All Four Frederick County Middle Schools Named Speak Up Loud and Clear Schools

Project Tomorrow has recognized Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School, Frederick County Middle School, James Wood Middle School and Robert E. Aylor Middle School as Speak Up Loud and Clear Schools for their involvement in the 2015 Speak Up Research Project on Digital Learning. Just over 200 schools from across the country received the special recognition.
FCPS High Schools Named Blue Star Schools

Working in Support of Education (w!se) has announced that James Wood, Millbrook and Sherando high schools have each been named Blue Star Schools for their students’ performance on the 2015-16 w!se Financial Literacy Certification Test. The national standardized test is administered to students at the conclusion of a course on personal finance and economics. Students who pass the test are designated as Certified Financially Literate and earn a w!se certification.

Four FCPS Seniors Named Commended Students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program

Congratulations to Millbrook High School senior Chelsie Sherwood and Sherando High School seniors Taylor Fogarty, Sarah Petras and Myles McPartland for being named Commended Students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended Students represent about two-thirds of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
